In Ivy Pierce’s world, Greek mythology is reality. Sirens, like herself, use men for money, power and status; but she has the greatest gift of all. Stronger than any of the Siren’s before her, Ivy’s attraction alludes to a prophecy that could mean the rebirth of Greek gods and goddesses for our modern time.

The Fates believe she is the symbol of a new era. Her mother believes she is the key to ultimate power in their Greek circle. And Nix, her godfather and god of the sea, believes she belongs to him.

Ivy doesn’t want any part of her world or the people that demand so much of her. With the help of Ryder Sutton, her closest friend, she will fight against fate, against the expectations of her society and against the desires of a monster that will do anything to possess her.

And through it all she will deny her feelings for the one person she loves more than anything in order to protect him.

While her future crumbles around her, Ivy will go to extreme lengths to free herself from her glass prison—or drown trying.

The Fall The Siren Series Book 2 eBook Rachel Higginson

adored The Rush so much that the minute I finisbed it I ordered this book because I HAD to know what happened next.

I found this book to be a lot more evil/darker than the first one in the series, as we are introduced to a lot more twisted Greeks, and we see how much worse the Siren life can be. I still think Nix is a creep, but he makes the perfect villan! I thought Ava and Smith were a ...surprise, but that is all I am going to say about them. Ivy still carries that major internal struggle, still, of wanting to fight for a better life, but being so afraid of others being hurt in the process, and it lead to her seeming strong at times and terribly weak at other times. Her rock, though...Ryder! I love Ryder so much! He is such a loving guy to Ivy, and wants nothing more than for her to feel safe and happy, and he is willing to put himself on the line for that...I mean, *swoon*. Overall, decent, easy read!

The Fall The Siren Series Book 2 eBook Rachel Higginson Reviews

Ivy has one thing in her life. hope. The hope that she will survive the devastation called her life. A mother she despises, a boyfriend who has introduced her to true unconditional love and a sister she will fight to protect.
Cannot wait for book 3.
This was a great second book in the series. It had been a while since I read the first but I think most if it came back as I read. It is different then other books I've read. I'm not so versed in the Greek gods but I'm looking forward to the next book to find out what powers different people will have(I don't want to give anything away) and if there will be a war on Mt Olympus.
This series is truly amazing , be prepared to stay up late you may want to lock the book away in your car because it's so good you won't feel to put it down. At the end of the book it says book 3 come out in November 2014 , but there is no book 3 , and then another place says it comes out March 26, 2015 but it did not come out . When will this book come out and how do I buy it ?
Oh my the love that Ryder and Ivy have for each other is so amazing. And now that they have finally admitted their feelings for each other no one can get between them. Or so they hope. Nix will stop at nothing to own Ivy, he's ruthless in his attempts to tame her and break her. This book was amazing, such a roller coaster of suspense, drama and heartache. I can't wait for the final book, I want Nix to go down. Fingers crossed that he does.
The stakes have been raised. The gods are showing their true colors & Ivy thinks *a lot* about her guilt, her self-pity, her fear, and her unending love for Ryder.

This does feel like a complete story, but it also reads like a bridge between books 1 & 2. Stuff happens we learn more about the Greek Pantheon, get teased about Ivy's powers, watch her relationship with Ryder grow. But, there seemed like a lot of filler narration where Ivy processes her feelings.
Enjoyed the two books but I am not much into a cliffhanger ending. Both books so far is about the underdog getting beaten. I wasn't happy about not seeing too much of Ivy's siren power. So far she only sang once and some white lights that was useless in defending herself. I gave this 3 stars because I got tired of her be beaten down through out both books and how she was powerless. It got a bit repetitive on how much she talked about how Ryder makes her feels. Also, I wish Ryder was able to escape with her. Overall, the story line is engaging and it pulls you in. I just felt that the ending could have been more of the potential of Ivy being able to kick butt. I recommend this series but expect the bad guys being on top all throughout the first two books. Book two would've been awesome if Ivy had more power and Ryder having power too. I jus felt like Ivy was portrayed as weak in that she can protect herself. Too wimpy forme. I will read the next book though because of the captivating storyline.
OK, WOW. The last half of this book just blew me away. And thus has made it sooooo hard to decide how to rate it. B/C the run to the end was solid 5 stars for me. But my problem comes in that for giant chunks of the first half, I was kind of bored. I think it was a personal taste thing. There's a lot of time spent in Ivy's head while she describes her emptiness, or her love, or her rage, or well, just about everything. But it got to be too much for me, and a bit repetitive, so it kind of lost its magic there. I think I was kind of influenced too b/c on a re-read of The Rush I felt the same thing (lots of beautiful prose, but that's never been a huge draw for me in writing, especially if it feels repetitive). But I have to caution readers that feel similarly to me -- KEEP READING!!! B/C once it picks up, OMG you will be so glad you hung on for the ride.

I love how the story picks up a quite a few months after The Rush. In other series that might have bothered me, but I felt it was all very seamless and didn't feel that I missed out on anything, just got to advance to the next big hurrah kind of thing....if that makes sense. And seeing the "platonic like" (yeah right) friendship that had developed between Ivy and Ryder was just dream come true territory. They have SUCH amazing chemistry, and while Ivy's struggles over whether she can't live without him, or if she's a horrible influence on him got to be kind of tiring, I *really* felt their connection in this book so that balanced it off. It was so nice to be given so many moments of pure happy to balance all the crap going on in Ivy's life.

There is a LOT more paranormal in this book than The Rush, and I really LOVED all the little tidbits of Greek mythology that was mixed in. And so many of them were a huge surprise. Of course, that does also mean that I was left with a bit of confusion and lots and lots of questions that I hope will be answered in The Heart. I did find that the number of new Greek characters and information could be a bit overwhelming at times, but that was really only in this one party part, so it didn't last long.

LOVED the Fates. And by loved I mean Hated with a fiery passion. Like seriously, creepy much? But yeah, they were a great new addition.

LOVED the development with Ava, and while I could see that things were being hinted here and there, I did NOT see that coming. I really enjoyed that twist.

LOVED (in a horrific kind of way) the storyline with Ana and Eva. I think more than anything else, that just ripped my guts out. I had a feeling how that was going to go, and I wasn't wrong, but it was just laid out beautifully. (on a side note, LOVED the craziness during Ivy's distraction....makes me want to know more about why that all is, etc).

LOVED Exie and Phoenix and the fact that they all had been hanging out with each other for the past few months....so glad that those girls got some normal in their lives.

Didn't think I could hate Nix more than The Rush, but oh holy hell do I want him to die a fiery death full of torture and badness....give me that god-killer, I'll do it. He really did turn from human nightmare into paranormal nightmare supreme (now available at taco bell).

And the climax battle....so epic. I still felt really confused about Ivy's powers...or whatever that was...but the things Ryder said....the...Ohhhhh....perfect...heartbreaking, but perfect. (and yes, I know that that didn't make any sense)

And the ending just left me feeling hope, letting me breathe and anticipate the dramatic conclusion. Oh November 2014....you are so far away.

So yeah. 5 star epic 2nd half -- such a refreshing addition to the paranormal series out today.
