This is the second novel I have read by Kenneth Michaels from the Nick & Norm Gay Detective Series. True to form, the book is a quick and enjoyable read. For me the book provided interesting and fun characters along with a crime to solve. There were sub plots that further developed the main characters adding for me, more fun. I am not sure the author intended some of them to be humorous but for me they were. If you have enjoyed visiting Key West with its' diversity, this an excellent read for you. I hope there are more books to follow this one. How about Ptown!Product details

Loved the references to Key West and interesting characters. A bit out of touch with reality but within the legal stretch.
Michaels' second book is outstanding. The walk through the iconic Key West bars, restaurants, night clubs, and neighborhoods are nostalgic. The story is both hilarious and intriguing. I love Micheals' sense of humor and adventure. His characters have integrity and are endearing. Whether you have spent time in Key West or not, you will love this book!
I love “gay novels” that reflect real diversity in characters. That’s why I am addicted to Armistead Maupin as he blesses us with as many important and lovable straight characters as there are gay ones. What a wonderful surprise to discover Kenneth Michaels and his Gay Detective series, because that is exactly what he has given us with his work. As I read his bio it becomes no surprise when I see that he lives in Key West, that wonderful land of One Human Family. These detective novels are filled with edge of the seat suspense, as well as those wonderful emotional moments when you may need a tissue to wipe away some moisture in order see the rest of the page. I highly recommend these enjoyable books.
I can't get enough of the gay dective. Nick and Norm are Key West fun sun and murder. Follow them through the history and quirks if one of my favorite places on Earth. Great read
This sophomore issue of the series was much better than the first outing (which came across as rather amateurish). This time there was not as many gay cliches and the character development of our two protagonists was not so superficial. I enjoyed it. You get better insight into Nick and Norm and the camaraderie that is developing. I'll definitely keep an eye out for future stories, although I would suggest that the author work on making the culprit a bit more interesting or intriguing.
Grab your sun glasses your lotion your drink of choice and just enjoy. It's packed with all your favorite spots (if you live there or visit allot over years). The characters are fun and likable and the "whodunit" part is just as breezy and easy. No need to break a sweat while reading this. A built in breeze is added for you.
I love Nick and Norm. Both grab our hearts while they try to solve a mysterious string of suicides and the disappearance of Sho, one of Key West's star drag queens. If you don't know about Key West, you will after reading this book. Who knew - chickens everywhere.But there are so many roadblocks to them solving the crimes - as it becomes apparent that the suicides are murders. Used to professional standards in policing, they are shocked at the shoddy efforts of the local police. Why is this?
Nick tries a relationship, his first since the death of his love, Darren. Norm falls in love too. This is why I recommend this book - Ken Michaels has created two well developed characters and that we end up caring about. I'm looking forward to more books in this series with Nick and Norm.
